US deputy JD Vance arrives in Switzerland for talks with Iran

US Vice President JD Vance has arrived in Switzerland for talks between the US and Iran, according to his office.

Steve Witkoff, US special envoy, and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, are already dealing with technical aspects of the discussions.

Before taking off, his main priorities are to establish the framework for the talks, “make progress” on nuclear issues and achieve a ceasefire in Lebanon.

“We will have one at the top and, obviously, the technical team will remain in Lebanon”, pointed out the vice president.

He highlighted that he will only be able to stay in Switzerland for “one or two days”, but hopes to make progress in negotiations on the management of Iranian nuclear material.

Vance also assessed that the situation in Lebanon is something that “we will have to.”

“Those are the two main points we will focus on. I’m sure the Iranians will also have issues they would like to discuss,” he said.
