Vienna – The registration period for five referendums ended on Monday evening. The strongest performer was the one that advocated free contraception and achieved 59,971 votes – declarations of support plus entries. Other initiatives campaigned for other different topics: One wants to establish Good Friday as a public holiday (49,026), another calls for the introduction of compulsory voting for the National Council and Federal Presidential elections (27,071).
