Racer Maťo Homola had to intervene: No Covid-19! WHICH paralyzed his heart

Slovak car racer Maťo Homola (31) he recently gave his fans a real scare. After he started experiencing sudden chest pains on May 22, he decided to seek help at the emergency room. After basic examinations, doctors diagnosed him with myocarditis – inflammation of the heart muscle.

The native of Bratislava later sent supporters somewhat more optimistic messages about his health. “So far, all examinations do not show signs of a worsening condition, or greater paralysis of the heart, on the contrary, the heart looks strong. So now it is important to catch it, and then it will gradually return to normal with a rest regime.” he stated on May 25 on the social network.

He did not forget to express his gratitude for the huge wave of solidarity that arose after the publication of the report, and he also highlighted the work of health workers. “Thank you for all the supportive messages, there were a lot of them and I appreciate it, and I can’t forget the great attitude of the nurses and doctors at the Ružinov hospital. Thank you, you are great,” he bequeathed to them.

An untreated infection is to blame for everything

A discussion was sparked under his post, in which people started coming up with their own theorieshow could an inflammatory heart disease break out in such a young and active athlete. Many commenters started immediately blame the coronavirus vaccination for the health problems that have arisen. “I would like to know if you are vaccinated against covid” one man asked him. “Doctors won’t tell you it’s because of it,” another wrote to him.

Homola himself responded to these speculations, who decided to set the record straight. “There has been such discord in the comments here, and even though I have no obligation to inform anyone on social networks about my state of health, the reason for the inflammation was an intestinal infection approximately a week before the actual hospitalization, which was probably not sufficiently treated,” he emphasized.

He explained how the disease occurred. “The body “attacked” the heart with inflammation through an immune reaction. I won’t get into polarizing debates here, but I can assure everyone that conjecture in the comments is completely irrelevant and out of place. Everyone can take what they want from it. Thank you,” he added.

After days full of fear, he spoke to fans with good news. “After 7 days in the ICU, I was successfully discharged. Now there is a longer rest regime at home, so that the heart can heal 100%. I will be under the supervision of doctors and a cardiologist, who will then set a plan for gradual loading of the body,” he explained on May 31 on the social network.
