Anac: Domestic air movement grows 2% in one year

The movement of passengers in domestic flights in Brazil reached a record for the month of May, with 8.31 million travelers transportedaccording to consolidated data from Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) and published by the Ministry of Tourism.

The result represents growth of 2% compared to the 8.16 million registered in May 2025 and is the highest for the month since the beginning of the historical series, in 2000.

Between January and May, 42 million passengers traveled on domestic flights in the country, an increase of 6% compared to the 39.8 million registered in the same period last year. According to Anac, this is the first time that the 42 million passenger mark has been surpassed in the first five months of the year.

The data also shows progress in international movement. Between January and May, 12.8 million passengers were registered, a 10% increase compared to the 11.6 million recorded in the same period in 2025.

Considering only the month of May, international movement reached 2.23 million passengers, an increase of 5% compared to the 2.13 million registered a year earlier.

The , stated that the numbers reflect the increase in demand for domestic travel. According to him, performance is also related to actions to promote national destinations and the expansion of air connectivity.

“The numbers reflect the excellent moment that Brazilian tourism is currently experiencing. Brazilians have more confidence, more income and more desire to discover the beauties of their own country. We will continue working to integrate Brazil so that even more Brazilians can travel”, he stated in a statement.
