Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the 40-day operation of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), whose goal is to put pressure on Russia and force it to end the war. Zelensky announced this on social networks on Thursday, the French newspaper Le Monde wrote on its website.
“I approved a 40-day SBU operation aimed at influencing the aggressor state to force it to end the war,” said the president. At the same time, Zelensky highlighted the results of the SBU in defending Ukrainian positions at the front. According to him, the SBU has been achieving “excellent results” in recent months, mainly thanks to the use of unmanned aircraft. The President added that the SBU Alfa special unit is one of the leaders in attacks on members and equipment of the Russian occupation forces.
This announcement came at a time when In its attacks with the use of unmanned aircraft, Ukraine also hits targets deep in the Russian interior. Kiev describes these attacks as part of an effort to weaken Russia’s military capabilities and increase pressure on Moscow.
