The minister Alexandre de Moraesfrom , should meet this Tuesday (30) with the defense of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) before . The meeting is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm, in the magistrate’s office.
The expectation is that Moraes will define the future of the benefit after the meeting with the former president’s representatives.
As shown by CNN. Reports attached to the process indicate that the former president still faces complications and requires care.
In addition to the medical issue, the defense must reinforce Moraes that Bolsonaro intends to fully comply with the precautionary measures imposed by the Supreme Courtwith the aim of maintaining the benefit of house arrest.
Bolsonaro completed 90 days at home last Wednesday (24). The initial expectation was that Moraes would already renew the benefit, but the seizure of a weapon registered in the name of the former president during a raid in Brasília led the minister to reevaluate this possibility.
After the episode, Moraes asked for a statement from the PGR (Attorney General’s Office). The agency stated that it intends to take a position on possible serious misconduct only after the conclusion of the investigation conducted by the Civil Police of the Federal District.
The PGR’s statement was received with optimism by the defense, which denies that Bolsonaro committed any serious misconduct. The lawyers maintain that there was no breach of the precautionary measures and hope that house arrest will be maintained.
