Gabriel Visconti, superintendent of the area of Coping with Extreme Events and Management of the Rio Doce Fund of BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), hopes that the resources administered will be able to promote the “full and definitive repair” of the region affected by the tragedy of the Mariana dam (MG).
During the CNN Talks: New Era of Miningheld this Tuesday (30), in São Paulo, bringing together authorities, experts and leaders from the sector, Visconti described the episode as “a huge tragedy” and highlighted that it is “difficult for life to go back to the way it was before”.
However, he highlighted BNDES’ tradition in managing funds and the great responsibility that the institution carries in this specific case, seeking to recover the region by carrying out projects and carrying out actions that promote socioeconomic and environmental development.
“The application is essential that it is done well to promote the effective recovery of the region. With coordination, it will be effective and will promote recovery”, said Visconti to CNN Brazil.
