Zehra Sena Gultekin’s family vacation with her husband, their three children and 9 other relatives ended in tragedy, as all 14 lost their lives in the center of Kartalkaya, Bolu Province, Turkey.
Amidst the fire, Gultekin made a final phone call to her mother, Habibe Guner, a founding member of the Justice and Development Party (AK), to say goodbye. The victim’s father is Mehmet Guner, a former AKP member of parliament.
In the fire in Bolu, 14 people from the same family, including THY employees Zehra Sena Gültekin and Bilal Gültekin, their 3 children and their relatives, lost their lives.

The funeral of the victims will take place today after noon prayer at the Kalici Konutlar mosque in Bolu province. Today, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who promised to bring those responsible for the fire to justice, will also go to the scene of the tragedy. 9 people have already been arrested.
Turkish Airlines’ condolence announcement
Turkish Airlines, where Gultekin worked, issued a statement of condolence.
“The tragic fire at the Kartalkaya Hotel in Bolu has deeply saddened us all. First of all, I express my condolences to all those who lost their lives, I wish patience and strength to their relatives and a speedy recovery to the injured,” said THY Board of Directors Chairman Ahmet Bolat.
“May all those who have passed away rest in peace. Our deepest condolences to our nation and the Turkish Airlines family,” the statement said.
