How votes are distributed
The distribution of votes has always been a reason for controversy since the first Benidorm Fest, l in front of the public’s favorites, Rigoberta Bandini and, above all, Tanxugueiras was almost national debate. This year the free vote for the public has been introduced and the democopic vote has been eliminated, which came from a statistical selection of 350 people representing the entire Spanish population.
Like other times, the votes of the professional jury have a weight of 50% in the final result. The other 50% corresponds to the public, which this time can vote for the traditional messages and calls phones (which will have 25% of the final result) or free of charge through the RTVE Play app (with a single vote for person and that will contribute the remaining 25%).
The professional jury is composed of eight people. The spokesman is Roberto Santamaría, director of RNE. The National Jury is composed of Javier Llano, Jaime Acero and Claudia Orellana. In the international are Oksana Skybinska, Maja Tokic, Twan Van de Nieuwenhuijzen and Mariangela Borneo. In case of a tie, the winner will be the one who has received the best jury score.
On this occasion, the points that each participant have received, but the details of how the votes will be revealed after the final, possibly to avoid controversies have not been announced.
