GINTES ZILBALODIS, Director of Animation “Flow”celebrated the victory at Oscar 2025 in a peculiar way: dining in a traditional fast-food restaurant two United States.
The filmmaker had already celebrated the same way by winning the category of Best Animation on the Golden Globein January and now, he took the opportunity to bring together the entire team of the film to celebrate the feat.
“Flow” is a Latvia Animation that accompanies a lone cat in the midst of an apocalyptic flood. To survive, the animal will need to unite and trust other local beings, and fight that the boat where they protected themselves is not destroyed.
The film surpassed another favorite of Dreamworks’s “Wild Robot” award, as well as “Fun Mind 2”, “Memories of a Snail” and “Wallace & Gomit: Avenue”. The feature, which has no dialogues, was entirely produced with the Software Livre Blender.
Production also competed in the category of best international film, where it was defeated by the Brazilian “I’m still here”.
