The Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira (PSD)stated, this Friday (8), that regulatory agencies need to “respect” the public policy maker, in a new criticism directed at the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
Silveira repeated that the charge to bodies, made repeatedly, is for the regulation of public policies. In the minister’s view, there are delays in the progress of different processes forwarded by the department.
The Executive Branch is studying the return of a mechanism that allows the federal government to agree goals with regulatory agencies. In practice, ministries would have greater influence on the regulatory agenda of local authorities.

“The dispute over regulatory agencies is punctual and legitimate,” said Silveira, at an event at the ministry. “Regulatory agencies have to respect the public policy maker”, he added.

He opposed the possible creation of a body to supervise all agencies linked to the ministries. Today, the Federal Audit Court (TCU) already plays this role.
