The five military police officers who worked as security guards for businessman Antônio Vinicius Gritzbach were removed from their operational activities.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the agents who were escorting Gritzbach, linked to the First Command of the Capital (PCC), had their cell phones seized after giving statements to the Civil Police and the Military Police Internal Affairs.
“The internal affairs bodies of the Civil and Military police are investigating the actions of their agents in the aforementioned case”, completes the note.
According to an investigation by the CNNfour of the military police officers who were guarding Vinicius were supposed to pick him up at the airport, but the car they were in allegedly broke down halfway.
Gritzbach was currently negotiating a plea bargain agreement, which involved the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), with the São Paulo Public Ministry (MPSP).
At the moment, the police are continuing their investigations under the hypothesis of a possible file burning, as the businessman had enemies and the disagreements may have motivated the crime.
The execution
Antônio Vinicius Gritzbach, linked to the PCC, was shot to death this Friday afternoon (8) in terminal 2 of Guarulhos airport, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.
On that occasion, around five individuals disembarked from a black vehicle and fired shots at the businessman.
Gritzbach would be responsible for the death of drug dealer Anselmo Becheli Santa Fausta, known as “Cara Preta”, who died in 2021. The businessman was already arrested and left jail in 2023, after the plea negotiations began.
