The lawyer for rapper and music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs proposed this Friday (8) a new bail package of US$50 million so that his clients can be released from prison in Brooklyn, New York, where he has been held since Sept. 17 on felony sex trafficking charges. The agreement was rejected.
Under the package presented by Marc Agnifilo, “Diddy” Combs would limit his travel to Florida, New York and New Jersey and wear a GPS monitor. This proposal was rejected, as well as a later one, which included drug testing and no female visitors to their homes except family and the mothers of their children. The second proposal was also rejected.
Before this latest appeal, Combs lost two attempts to be released on bond. The first judge, Judge Robyn Tarnofsky, agreed with the prosecution’s argument that the music mogul posed a risk if released to house arrest.

“I don’t believe the attorney has the ability to control him given the very significant concerns … primarily because of substance abuse and what appears to be anger issues,” Tarnofsky told Combs and his attorney, according to with a court transcript released by the newspaper USA Today.
“The danger, I think, is quite serious,” she added of Combs’ release, deciding that the bail package her team offered would not “guarantee his return to court or the safety of the community, or the lack of witness tampering.” ”.
The rapper and producer pleaded not guilty in September to charges that he used his business empire, including his record label Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport men and women across state lines to take part in recorded sexual performances called “Freak Offs.”

For attorney Agnifilo, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, doting on his children and working to uplift the black community. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal,” said the lawyer.
