Not long ago, journalist Monika Tódová led a live discussion on the topic How to save democracy. The guests were publicist Martin M. Šimečka, journalist Matúš Kostolný, Czech journalist Erik Tabery and actress Kristína Tormová, who replaced journalist Marián Lešek.
The discussion took place shortly before the presidential elections in the USA, and therefore this topic was also discussed in the discussion. In the elections, Kamala Harris fought against Donald Trump, who was also supported by our Prime Minister Robert Fico. “I am an eternal optimist, so I believe that Robert Fico must be wrong and Donald Trump will not win. And now not because I want Robert Fico to be wrong, but because this is a really serious matter. Because if he wins the election, it is very bad news for us in Slovakia and for us in Central Europe and in general in the whole of Europe” Kostolny said.
Tormová also joined the debate. “I would say about the results of the American elections that it is probably clear to everyone that those results depend on who Rytmus and Plačková will support in the elections today.” she said teasingly.
Tormová was alluding to the period of the presidential elections in Slovakia, when several well-known personalities publicly expressed their support for Peter Pellegrini, including Patrik Rytmus Vrbovský, Jasmina Alagič, Zuzana Strausz Plačková, Dominika Cibulková, or Attila Végh. Many did not like their support and even lost some collaborations at that time.
Kristina Tormová’s statement in the discussion reached Jasmine Alagič, who commented on her words on the social network. “Kristína Tormová, should I understand that Trump won thanks to my man and Zuza?” the moderator wrote. However, Tormová did not publicly answer her question.
