This Wednesday afternoon (30), the Court ordered the arrest of the president of Mancha Alviverde, Jorge Luís, the vice-president, Felipe Matos dos Santos, and four other members of the crowd organized for the ambush of Cruzeiro residents on the Fernão Dias highway, in Mairiporã, last Sunday (27).
From now on, the police will look for the suspects or they can negotiate to come forward. A search and seizure must be carried out at the headquarters of the organized fans.
The attack on two buses containing Blue Mafia fans left one dead and around 20 injured. Motorbike courier José Victor Miranda, 30, was attacked and suffered burns to his body, according to the PRF (Federal Highway Police), responsible for policing the road. One of the attacked vehicles was set on fire and the other was vandalized.
Miranda was laid to rest this Tuesday (29) in Sete Lagoas (MG). Members of Cruzeiro’s uniformed fans, based in Belo Horizonte, were at the scene.
According to investigations, the group of Palmeiras residents arrived at the ambush site 1 and a half hours before the crime. President Jorge Luiz Sampaio would have been the intellectual mentor of the ambush, as a form of revenge after being attacked by Minas Gerais fans in 2022.
Another request for temporary arrest for 30 days falls on the vice-president of Mancha, Felipe Matos dos Santos, known as Fezinho. Camera images would have recorded him in a parking lot in Mairiporã.
According to police, some of the fans were identified through vehicle license plates filmed at the scene of the ambush.
Luís’ defense stated that they have not yet had access to the case files. Santos’ defense was not located until the early afternoon of this Wednesday (30).
The investigation into the attack is being carried out by Drade (Police Station for the Suppression of Offenses of Sports Intolerance), the police station responsible for investigating fan fights.
Drade had access to images from highway security cameras that helped identify Palmeiras fans. The specialized police station has records with photos and data on fans of the main organized clubs in the state.
The investigations into the Mancha ambush against the Blue Mafia are also monitored by Gaeco (Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime), from the Public Ministry.
On Tuesday night (29), the State Department of Health confirmed that a fan remains hospitalized at Franco da Rocha Hospital in a serious condition. The man had been taken to Hospital Anjo Gabriel, in Mairiporã, but was transferred on Monday (28) through the Health Services Offers Regulation Center.
In this Sunday’s attack, Cruzeiro fans were returning from a game against Athletico Paranaense, in Curitiba. Palmeiras had played against Fortaleza, in the capital of São Paulo.
The case, which occurred towards Belo Horizonte, was a response to a confrontation between them, which took place in September 2022, on the same highway, but on Minas Gerais soil. On that occasion, among those attacked was the current president of Mancha, Jorge Luís.
Stain prohibited in stadiums
The FPF (São Paulo Football Federation) published an ordinance this Wednesday determining the ban on organized fans Mancha Alviverde from entering São Paulo stadiums.
According to the FPF, the decision complies with the recommendation of the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo and determines the prohibition of “any clothing and objects (banners, flags, etc.) that identify members of the organized fans ‘Grêmio Recreativo e Cultural Torcida Mancha Alviverde'”.
The federation said it “will notify the State Security Bodies, Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo, for the purpose of monitoring compliance” with the determination, which comes into force from this Wednesday.
