Argentine police are searching for a Rolex watch that disappeared during the initial investigation into Liam Payne’s death.

The object is valued at £30,000 – more than R$200,000 at current prices – and was seen with Payne hours before the tragedy. “We know, from analyzed images, that Liam had the watch on the day of his death. He had it in one hand and had it with him at least two to three hours before the fatal fall at the hotel. We looked for the watch in his hotel room and were unable to find it,” a source told the Argentine newspaper La Nación.

Searches were carried out for the watch in the homes of the three people arrested for involvement in the actor’s death. Two women who had contact with Payne moments before the fatal fall, considered witnesses, also had their homes searched, but nothing was found.

A new magazine will soon be made in the suite at the Hotel Casa Sur, where Payne was staying in Buenos Aires. “The room is still sealed by court order and no one can enter. Searching for the clock in the homes of people Liam had contact with before his death was the initial priority, but a further inspection will now be carried out to see if the clock remains somewhere in that room.”
