Ceará visits Botafogo-SP to enter the G4 and “embolar” Series B

Ceará depends solely on itself to finish the 36th round of Series B within the G4 and once and for all upset the fight for access. To do this, they need to beat Botafogo-SP this Tuesday (12), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Santa Cruz Stadium, in Ribeirão Preto (SP).

In the above scenario, Vozão would reach 60 points and surpass Sport by the number of victories, the first tiebreaker criterion established in the competition regulations. Leão da Ilha already played in the round and drew 1-1 with Chapecoense, at home.

The last time Alvinegro finished a round in the G4 was in the eighth round of the Segundona, when it was still coached by Vágner Mancini. Since then, they have accumulated 13 wins, three draws and 11 defeats in 27 matches.

Botafogo-SP, in turn, seeks to reach the “magic number” of 45 points to allow it to remain in the state. At the moment, the São Paulo club occupies 14th place in Series B, with 42 points.

How do you get to Ceará?

Ceará comes from two consecutive victories in the national competition, over Paysandu and Avaí. Both games were played in Fortaleza (CE). Alvinegro is, alongside Santos, the owner of the best attack in the Second Season, with 54 scored. The defense, on the other hand, is not good and conceded 40 goals in 35 matches.

For this Tuesday’s duel, coach Léo Condé will have the return of left-back Matheus Bahia, who should be in the starting lineup. On the other hand, Lourenço, suspended, and Recalde, for a reason not informed by the club, did not travel with the delegation to the interior of São Paulo. De Lucca and Lucas Mugni must assume their respective positions.

How does Botafogo-SP arrive?

Botafogo-SP, in turn, comes from two consecutive victories. Away from home, Pantera beat Amazonas and Brusque by a score of 1-0. As a result, they left the relegation zone and began to “breathe” more calmly in Series B.

Coach Márcio Zanardi will have important returns for the match against Ceará. Recovered from a rupture in the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, midfielder Leandro Maciel was once again involved. His last performance was on March 1st, against Guarani, in the Campeonato Paulista.

Released by the medical department after the transition process, goalkeeper João Carlos and left-back Jean Victor are also back. Strikers Emerson Negueba and Douglas Baggio, who were suspended in the last round, complete the list of returns.

The absences are due to defender Raphael, due to an accumulation of yellow cards, and right-back Pedro Costa, due to a muscle injury.
