Hospital requests international protection after series of attacks that hit civilians in different regions of the Palestinian territory
Israel carried out a series of attacks in Gaza on Monday (11.Nov.2024), killing at least 40 Palestinians, said the . A drone hit a cafe in the al-Mawasi region, an area that the Israeli army had designated as a safe evacuation zone.
At least 10 people were killed in the attack on the cafe, located west of Khan Younis, south of Gaza, the newspaper said. According to Al Jazeera, the drone fired 2 missiles at the establishment. Victims were taken to Nasser Hospital with serious injuries.
Earlier in Nuseirat, authorities at al-Awda Hospital confirmed 20 deaths following air and ground attacks. Israeli tanks advanced on the local refugee camp, surprising residents trying to flee.
Kamal Adwan Hospital, near Beit Lahiya, reported 3 injured staff after drone attack. The medical unit requested protection from international organizations.
Since October 2023, the Gaza Ministry of Health counts 43,603 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks. The military operation began after Hamas’ action in Israel resulted in 1,139 deaths.
At a meeting in Saudi Arabia, the Arab League and the OIC (Organization for Islamic Cooperation) condemned Israeli actions. Prince Mohammed bin Salman called on the international community to prevent further attacks in the region.
Israel and Lebanon advance in ceasefire negotiations
Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, said on Monday (11.Nov.2024) that there was “certain progress” in negotiations for a ceasefire in Lebanon and that Russia could help by preventing the rearmament of Hezbollah by Syria. One Final agreement has not yet been reached.
Saar spoke of the importance of ensuring the effectiveness of any agreement before a ceasefire, highlighting Israel’s collaboration with the United States in diplomatic efforts. “We will be ready if we know, first of all, that Hezbollah is not on our border, and that Hezbollah will not be able to arm itself again with new weapons systems.”he added.
However, even with the Israeli minister’s speech this Monday (Nov 11), the armed group denied having received any official proposal. According to the boss of Hezbollah’s media office, Mohammad Afif, in conversation with journalists in Beirut, Lebanese capital, “so far, nothing official has reached Lebanon or us in this regard.”
Since the end of September, Israel has intensified its military operations in southern Lebanon, aiming to protect its northern border and facilitate the return of displaced civilians. The raids resulted in losses for Hezbollah, including the group’s seniors.
