First day of the new dana, with eight communities under notice
A new rain storm begins in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands caused again by a dana, the effects of which will last at least until Saturday. On this first day, the greatest amounts of rain will be collected in the Balearic Islands, according to the forecasts of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), while on Wednesday the most affected areas will be Catalonia, the Valencian Community and Andalusia.
Thus, this Tuesday there are warnings in eight communities due to rain, storms, snow, wind and rough seas: Aragón, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Galicia, Murcia and the Valencian Community. The most serious warnings, orange (the second level of a scale of three) affect the Balearic Islands, Alicante and Valencia, where 40 liters per square meter are expected to fall in one hour; and to Girona due to sea storms, with waves of between three and four meters.
Temperatures have begun a strong and abrupt decline, which has pushed the snow level down. It will be around 800 meters in the north of the Peninsula, which may make road and rail traffic difficult. There are yellow warnings, the minimum, for snow in Asturias and Castilla y León.
On Thursday, there is a lot of uncertainty, but, in principle, the Aemet points to western Andalusia, again the area between the Ebro delta and Cape de la Nao and the central area is added.
