CSN reversed a weak positive result from a year earlier into a net loss in the third quarter, with operating results plummeting 19%, according to the third quarter balance sheet released late Tuesday night (13).
The company had a net loss of R$750.9 million from July to the end of September compared to a positive result of R$90.8 million in the same period in 2023.
Net revenue totaled R$11.1 billion, practically stable compared to the same period last year, with the cost of products sold also stable at R$8.3 billion.
The operating result measured by adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) fell 19%, to R$2.28 billion, with the margin falling from 24.3% to 19.7%.
The company ended the quarter with leverage of 3.34 times, practically stable compared to the second quarter and above the level of 2.63 times a year before.
