Former BBB Paulo André, 26 years old, was announced as a new athlete for Benfica, from Portugal. The sprinter will be part of the Lisbon club’s athletics team.
The announcement of the agreement was made through Benfica and Paulo André’s social networks. The Brazilian is looking to qualify for his third Olympics. At the Paris 2024 Games, he came in last place in the 100m freestyle qualifying event.
“Benfica is very strong and has a whole structure, which is the most important thing. All the support, all the support, which I am sure will increase my performance. It is a club that lacks nothing. Sport is transformative and Benfica embraces all modalities”, said Paulo André to the Portuguese newspaper “O Jogo”.
In his sporting resume, Paulo André has participated in the 100m semifinal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2019 World Cup. He won the silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. Outside of sport, the athlete participated in the reality BBB, in 2022.
