Amazing images from a planet, revealed by NASA

NASA’s Juno spacecraft recently revealed stunning images of the planet Jupiter captured during its 66th close flyby of the largest and oldest planet in our solar system.

The Juno mission was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, in August 2011, and the shuttle arrived at Jupiter in July 2016. The purpose of the mission is to study the Jovian system – Jupiter, along with its rings and its many moons – to understand the formation and the evolution of this gas giant.

NASA has decided to extend the Juno mission until September 2025. During this extended phase, the orbiter will make another 42 orbits around the planet, investigate Jupiter’s moons and complete the first extended exploration of the planet’s faint rings, notes Noi.md with reference to .

“Since its first orbit in 2016, Juno has delivered one revelation after another about the inner workings of this gas giant. With the extended mission, we will answer the fundamental questions raised during the main mission, extending our research beyond the planet to explore the ring system and the Galilean satellites of Jupiter,” said the American researchers.
