Bahia launched, on the morning of this Wednesday (13), the new uniform for this year’s Black November. In partnership with singer Carlinhos Brown, the shirt will debut on Black Awareness Day – next Wednesday, November 20 -, in the game against Palmeiras, at 6pm, at Fonte Nova, for the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship.
The launch took place at Candyall Guetho Square, in Salvador. The new tricolor mantle is blue in color, “a tribute to the orixá Ogum, patron of fighting and metals, who also rules Carlinhos Brown in Candomblé”, as explained by Esquadrão.
“The design details bring references to African musicality, ancestral drums and body painting, symbolic elements incorporated throughout the artist’s career, especially in Timbalada. These details reflect African cultural roots, celebrating the richness of Bahianity and the history of Salvador”, added the club.
Another highlight of the piece is the ‘Made in CandyAll’ seal, an allusion to the neighborhood where Brown grew up and which he transformed into an “urban quilombo” of cultural and musical resistance. The shirt also bears the signature ‘Tricolor Felicidade’, a song made by the artist in partnership with Nizan Guanaes and which has a new video.
Sales have already started. From this Thursday (14th), the uniform can also be purchased at the club’s physical stores, for R$299.
