Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United captain and Portuguese international, performed a gesture of solidarity on board an easyJet flight that was bringing him to Portugal to join the National Team.
The quinas team is preparing for the last two games of the group stage of the League of Nations, and the midfielder was traveling accompanied by his colleague Diogo Dalot, as well as several passengers who were heading to Lisbon for the Web Summit.
According to the “Business Cloud” website, which specializes in technology, Bruno Fernandes drew the crew’s attention to a passenger who was about to faint. It all happened at the back of the plane, when the player was heading to the bathroom and suddenly heard a cry for help. Without hesitation, Bruno supported the man who seemed to lose consciousness, helping him to sit in a vacant seat while he waited for the flight attendants to arrive.
Susanna Lawson, one of the passengers who witnessed the situation, reported: “Bruno was at the back of the plane when we heard a scream. He was holding a gentleman who looked like he was about to faint. The crew rushed to help, and he stayed by the passenger’s side until he was sure he was okay. Then he returned to his seat discreetly, without seeking any attention.”
The Portuguese player’s gesture was widely praised on social media.
