Athletico beat Atlético-MG 1-0, on Saturday night (16/11), in a delayed duel from the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship. The game was played at the Ligga Arena, in Curitiba (PR). Thomas Cuello scored the winning goal for Furacão.

With the triumph, the team from Paraná left the Z4, remaining in 14th position, with 37 points. Galo ended up in 10th place, with 42 points.

How was Athletico-PR x Atlético-MG

The match started with Athletico pressing. At two, Julimar took a risk from outside the area and the ball went over Everson’s goal. Three minutes later, Erick crossed low into the area, behind the defense, Pablo appeared to finish, but sent it out. From then on, the game calmed down and became more rhythmic.

The next place of danger was from Atlético-MG. At 17, Hulk disarmed Gabriel at the edge of the area and sent him out. Furacão responded with a good play by Léo Godoy, who went behind the marker and crossed into the area with danger.

With 27 minutes, Athletico opened the scoring. Cuello dribbled past Scarpa in the middle and shot high from outside the area. Everson jumped, but didn’t reach the beautiful shot in the corner. With the goal, Athletico cheered up, had more possession of the ball, and controlled the match. The last chance before the break belonged to Galo. Hulk took a free kick at 45, but Mycael connected.

At 28, after a free kick on the right side, Thiao Heleno went up alone and headed the ball with great force towards the goal. The ball went to Everson. A minute later, Cuello passed Alisson’s marking, rolled to the edge of the area and Nikão shot over the goal.

In the final minutes, Atlético-MG tried to make final pressure, but were unable to threaten Mycael’s goal.
