Until the 28th of this month, Lagos will host an exhibition designed by Blessed Carlo Acutis, who will be canonized and was one of the patrons of World Youth Day () in Lisbon, the organization announced.
The International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles around the World, which began this Wednesday, has among its main objectives to reinforce “the essential role of the Eucharist as the center of Christian life and support for the mission of the Church [católica] in the world”, highlighted Father Nelson Rodrigues, from the parishes of Lagos, promoter of the exhibition, in a statement.
“Although he suffered when he was only 15 years old, [Carlo Acutis] He witnessed the faith in such a vivid and true way that in 2025 he will be canonized by Pope Francis, thus remaining a model for young people today who also had the opportunity to celebrate him as one of the patrons of WYD Lisbon 2023”, highlighted the organization.
The exhibition can be seen at the church of Santa Maria de Lagos and is made up of “approximately 166 panels that portray, with an extensive selection of photographs and historical descriptions, around 136 of the main Eucharistic miracles recognized by the Church and that occurred over the centuries in several countries around the world”, he explained.
Lagos thus receives a religious exhibition that has already been shown in parishes in several countries, “including some of the most famous Marian shrines, such as Fátima, Lourdes [França]Guadalupe [México]among others”, he added.
The exhibition opens daily at 10:00, at 17:30 “a Marian rosary with Carlo Acutis” is planned, followed by a “blessing with the Blessed Sacrament” at 18:15 and then a Eucharist at 18:30, marked by the organization , highlighting that opening and closing masses for the exhibition will be held on the first and last day of the exhibition, respectively.
