If the elections to the Czech Chamber of Deputies were held this month, Andrej Babiš’s movement would defeat the other parties. According to the latest survey, up to 35.3 percent of Czechs would vote for him.

With a difference of over twenty percentage points, Vít Rakušan’s STAN (Mayors and Independents) movement would take second place with 11.1 percent of the vote. For the first time, he managed to overtake the ODS (Democratic Democratic Party), which is led by the current Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala. According to the NMS Market Research model, she would get 10 percent of the votes, writes the Czech server.

In addition, the parties SPD (Freedom and Direct Democracy) with seven percent, KSČM (Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia) with 5.8 percent and Pirates (5.7 percent) would also exceed the five percent threshold.

Perhaps surprisingly, the TOP 09 party, whose leader Markéta Adamová Pekarová is currently also the president of the Chamber of Deputies, would not get into the parliament. In addition, the parties Motorists themselves (4.4 percent) or SOCDEM (Social Democracy) (3.3 percent) would not exceed five percent.

As idnes.cz adds, the ANO movement continues to grow, and at this rate it could reach a complete majority of seats in the elections. On the other hand, the parties that are currently members of the coalition are losing slightly. This also applies to the former coalition party Piráti, which has been on the verge of electability for a long time, even with a new chairman after the end of Ivan Bartoš.

The survey was conducted from November 5 to 12, 2024, and 1,306 respondents took part in it.
