Couple dead after shooting in Lower Austria, investigations underway

Matzendorf-Hölles – A couple died after being shot in Matzendorf-Hölles (Wiener Neustadt district) on Wednesday. The crime probably occurred between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The two were found in a residential building with gunshot wounds, Stefan Pfandler, head of the Lower Austria State Criminal Police Office, confirmed when asked by media reports. “The man died on the spot and the woman died in the hospital,” he said. An extended suicide is considered possible. The State Criminal Police Office is investigating.
