Another candidate to run for the Bolsonaro electorate in 2026, the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, spoke out in defense of Bolsonaro in a post on social media on Thursday night (21).
Tarcísio stated that the PF investigation “lacks evidence”, but did not detail his arguments. He also did not comment on the suspicion cited by the PF of a plan set up by the Bolsonaro government to assassinate (), the deputy, (), and the minister of .

Despite being allies of Bolsonaro, governors Ronaldo Caiado and Ratinho Jr. had friction with him in the municipal elections.
In Goiânia, Bolsonaro supported Fred Rodrigues (PL) against Caiado’s candidate, Sandro Mabel (União Brasil). In Curitiba, the former president’s PL was on the ticket of Eduardo Pimentel (PSD), supported by Ratinho Jr, but Bolsonaro even recorded a video saying he supported Cristina Graeml (PMB).
For the national executive president of União Brasil, Antônio de Rueda, the former president’s situation strengthens the names of Caiado, Zema, Ratinho and Tarcísio for the next elections. “The reading that any average Brazilian human being can achieve is this vision of empowerment”, he says.
Zema and Caiado’s silence regarding Bolsonaro’s indictment is at odds with the stance that the heads of the Executive adopted last week in relation to the bomb attack in Praça dos Três Poderes, in Brasília.
At the time, Caiado blamed the Lula government, while Zema, in the same line as Bolsonaro, said it was an isolated act.

An operation launched by the PF at the beginning of the week arrested four military personnel and a federal police officer and discovered a coup plot that predicted the death of Lula, the vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), and minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case at the STF (Federal Supreme Court).
