The revealed its planning for the festivities of , which promises to be grand. The event will feature 13 stages, one of them specially dedicated to gospel music, located in the famous . The traditional fireworks display will last approximately 12 minutes, with the fireworks being launched from ten rafts positioned along the shore. Among the artists confirmed for the celebration are big names such as , , (who will be on stage at New Year’s Eve) and , who will perform on different stages. Mayor Eduardo Paes emphasized that the party is inclusive and that artistic freedom will be respected, without any type of censorship.
In addition to the iconic Copacabana, the party will extend to ten more locations in the city, where the public will be able to enjoy performances by artists such as Pique Novo. The fireworks display will also bring innovations, including a new type of fireworks imported from Japan, promising an unprecedented visual spectacle. The event aims to attract a large number of tourists, with the expectation that attendance will exceed the 5 million people who participated in the previous year.
City hall promised to soon release detailed planning on traffic and security measures, which will include closures on access to Copacabana. In the west of the city, the fireworks display will be held in 12 different locations, with hotels and shopping malls responsible for organizing them, thus expanding celebration options for locals and visitors.
