Schnals – The World Cup season is over for the currently best Italian slalom runner. While preparing for the Gurgl Slalom on Sunday (from 10.30 a.m./live on ORF 1) in South Tyrol, Tommaso Sala tore a cruciate ligament in his left knee without falling and has to undergo surgery. The 29-year-old has recently been a consistent points driver; last season he achieved three top ten results with seventh place in Adelboden as his best result.
