Vasco’s concern with Robert Renan
Shortly after Vasco’s goal, an image worried the São Januário team’s coaching staff. Robert Renan and Barros played ball, and the defender took the worst. Subsequently, he tried and asked to follow the field, but the doctor, after testing, accused a concussion situation. Given this scenario, both teams gained another change (Lucas Oliveira entered the place of Robert Renan.
Second time
In the return of the break, coach Fernando Diniz chose to put the Colombian striker Andrés Gómez in place of Nuno Moreira. The game continued very caught and with physical disputes among the players. Flamengo had the ball and arrived in more opportunities, but Vasco also escaped with danger, especially with Rayan on the right.
At 19 minutes, coach Filipe Luís put the holders in the attack. Pedro and Arrascaeta went to the game. Soon after, Leo Jardim was tightened on the ball out of the duo and almost Arrascaeta managed to steal the goalkeeper’s ball. Flamengo continued to press near the Vasco area and Saul hit a beautiful kick that stopped in the crossbar.
Flamengo expanded the pressure and had the best opportunities. It was then that coach Fernando Diniz realized that he needed to change the team’s style of play. He took Coutinho and Vegetti and put David and Matheus France, making the team faster and able to make the necessary transitions to explore the counterattacks. With the changes Vasco improved in the game and was able to explore the spaces left by Flamengo.
In the last five minutes the red-black has returned to dominate the actions of the game, always coming with danger, mainly with Samuel Lino, Pedro and Arrascaeta. Despite the final pressure of the Gávea club, the draw persisted after 90 minutes.
