Center-right candidate Álvaro Delgado conceded the presidential election in Uruguay to center-left rival Yamandu Orsi, conceding defeat in the second round this Sunday (24), after the first official results signaled a victory for Orsi.
“It’s one thing to lose the election and another to be defeated. We are not defeated,” said Delgado when addressing his supporters. “Today we can congratulate whoever won, whoever was preferred and do it sincerely”, he added.
