Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has twice wanted to join the Army’s Special Forces (FE), known as , an elite group of the Armed Forces.
The members receive this nickname because they wear black caps during operations and are trained to carry out confidential missions, in hostile and politically sensitive environments.
To become part of this category, hThere is a selection process, which is carried out among military volunteers who undertake the Action Courseions of Commands.
In a solemn session in the Chamber, in honor of the Army’s elite troops, in 2019, Bolsonaro himself – president at the time – expressed this desire.
“I tried twice to take the Commando Course, but in the preparatory exams, which were not the physical exams, I was left behind. I would like to have tried the Commando Course and, perhaps, once approved, knowing how difficult the course was, try to become Special Forces back there. I was not successful, but we are together on this mission to take good care of our country”, said the former president at the time.
The term “black kid” has gained notoriety in recent days for being involved in a person responsible for drafting and organizing a coup d’état plan shortly after the 2022 presidential election, by vice-president Geraldo Alckmin and the minister of the Federal Supreme Court , Alexandre de Moraes.
The group was formed, according to the PF, mainly by members of the army. The Federal Police arrested, on Tuesday (19), four “black kids”.
Among those arrested, Bolsonaro’s former advisor who also spoke at the 2019 formal session.
The action, called Operation Counterattack, involves what was the basis for the operation. He would have been responsible, for example, according to the investigation, for analyzing and making changes to a document that, according to the PF report, was the “draft of the coup”.
