Guerrilla locates key Russian 'hideout'

He Ukrainian guerrilla movement Atesh has revealed detailed information about the Russian forces in its “hideout” located in the Fiolent military base, in Crimea. According to the group, the base houses the 25th Coastal Mobile Missile Divisionhe S-300 air defense system and the 26th Radar Battalionall key components in the region’s coastal and air defense.

“Our agent has examined the Fiolent base. The 25th missile unit, the S-300 air defense unit and the 26th radar battalion are located there. These units protect the coast and airspace. We are tracking weak points and sending data to the Ukrainian Army for further action“, he detailed in a message published on his X account.

The Atesh group, which combines the action of Ukrainian partisans, Crimean Tatars and Russians opposed to Putin, is responsible for collect information on Russian military movementsmainly in Crimeabut also in other occupied areas and even within Russia itself.

The S-300 system: a key piece in Russian defense

Among the units highlighted by Atesh is the S-300 air defense system, a crucial tool in Russia’s defense strategy. This system, developed in Soviet times, is capable of intercepting aircraft and ballistic missiles at distances of between 150 and 200 kilometers, depending on the version, and heights of up to 27 kilometers.

Additionally, each system includes Advanced radars and launchers that can direct up to 12 missiles simultaneously against six different targets. Originally designed to protect critical installations, the S-300 has been continually modernized, cementing its role as a central component in medium and long-range air defense.
