Argentine striker Walter Bou is one of eleven athletes nominated to compete for the 2024 Puskas Prize. The award chooses the most beautiful goal of the season. A former Vitória player, the 31-year-old player had a wasted time in Salvador, remaining in the fans’ memory for missing a goal in a Ba-Vi classic.

Currently at Lanús, in Argentina, the center forward scored a bicycle goal from outside the area against Tigre, which qualified him to be on the select list for the award. At Leão, Bou only entered the field in eight games in 2018, where he failed to find the net in the Brazilian Championship.

Despite having spent nothing in the red and black shirt, Bou had success in his career after leaving Salvador. In 2021, he was a crucial part of Defensa y Justicia, from Argentina, winning the Copa Sudamericana. In the current season, the striker already has 19 goals and four assists.

In addition to Walter Bou, 10 other players are competing for the most beautiful goal of the season award. They are: Hassan Al-Haydos (Qatar national team), Terry Antonis (Melbourne City-AUS), Yassine Benzia (Algerian national team), Michaell Chirinos (Honduras national team), Federico Dimarco (Inter Milan-ITA), Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United-ING), Mohammed Kudus (West Ham-ING), Denis Omedi (Kitara FC-UGA), Paul Onuachu (Trabzonspor-TUR) and Jaden Philogene (Hull City-ING).
