LaLiga president Javier Tebas accused Brazilian striker Vinícius Júnior of piracy. The reason was that the player published on his social networks the moment he was watching the match between Real Madrid and Liverpool, in the Champions League, broadcast on the TNT Sports Brasil channel. According to the entity’s president, Vini had committed an infraction, as he was in Spain.
“If I was in Madrid, and I believe I was in Madrid, it is piracy. Access to Champions content in Spain has to be through Movistar Television. To view this content, you would have to use a VPN or a satellite dish directed elsewhere. There has to be active conduct outside the scope of Movistar. It was pirating the game.
The LaLiga president sent a letter to Real Madrid in which he accused the striker of piracy and made other allegations.
Vini Jr. did not comment on the accusations. According to the website ge, the Brazilian would be using a pirated channel, but rather internet via 5g in data roaming from a line in Brazil. The system is the same one he uses to follow Flamengo’s matches.
This is not the first time that Javier Tebas has spoken about piracy in the broadcast of football games. He has raised a kind of flag on the issue and in recent years has defined those responsible for clandestine transmissions as “organized mafias”.
