Norris gives Piastri sprint victory in Qatar

Lusail – Lando Norris gave his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri victory in the sprint at the Qatar Grand Prix. The British pole-sitter let the 23-year-old Australian pass a few meters before the finish line on Saturday, meaning that Piastri, like last year, triumphed in the short race in Lusail. Mercedes driver George Russell completed the podium, while Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen had to make do with eighth place in the Red Bull.
