The elected president of the United States, Donald Trumpnominated this Saturday the lawyer and investigator Cash Patelwho worked in the Pentagon during his first term, as a candidate to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the country, and has argued that he did “an incredible job” defending “America First” even then.

Trump has recalled the “pivotal role” that Patel played in the “discovery” of the alleged Russian plot to interfere in the 2016 presidential elections, highlighting his laudable performance “as a defender of truth, accountability and the Constitution.”
“Kash did an incredible job during my first termin which he served as Chief of Staff of the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence and Senior Director of Counterterrorism at the National Security Council,” he added.
Donald Trump’s purpose with this appointment is end “growing epidemic” of crime in the countryas well as the dismantling of criminal gangs and human and drug trafficking networks, “to recover fidelity, bravery and integrity in the FBI,” he concluded.
Patel will succeed Christopher Wrayappointed to the position in 2017 during Trump’s first term at the helm of the White House and whose ten-year term would not end until 2027.
