The Bragança Court sentenced a domestic worker to four years and eight months of suspended sentence, after robbing several houses disguised as a ghost.
The domestic worker, around 40 years old, was caught red-handed on December 24, 2019, in one of the residences where she worked, covered with a sheetwith the appearance of a ghost.
With the disguise, the woman intended hide your identity while burglarizing the residence.
The owners caught her in the act because, After all, they decided to spend Christmas at home.
The episode allowed authorities to link the woman to other similar robberies throughout that year, in other places where he did domestic work.
The woman was tried for several theft crimes and damage to homes. On some occasions, he resorted to breaking and entering to enter other people’s homes.
But he also used the keys that had been entrusted to him at workto facilitate access to stolen sites.

The maid stole valuables, such as jewelry and watches, money and electronic devices.
“The defendant did not claim necessity. He practically claimed insanity” and that “I was in bad shape psychologically“, explained to journalists at the end of the reading of the ruling, the maid’s lawyer, Manuel Vitorino.
The legal representative also stated that he considers that justice has been done, but says that he will analyze the ruling further, noting that he may not appeal.
The suspended sentence of four years and eight months that was given to him was four months away from being suspended – all sentences equal to or greater than five years are effective imprisonment.
For five years, the woman, who had no registration, will stay subject to a good conduct test regime.
The defendant will still have to pay more than 11 thousand euros in compensation. The other part of the injured parties will have to pay 50% of the goods taken.
