President-elect calls lawyer “brilliant” and says the agency will “end the crime epidemic” in the USA
The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican), announced this Saturday (Nov 30, 2024) Kash Patel, his political ally, to command the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation).
Patel will replace current FBI Director Christopher Wray, who would need to resign from his position or be fired. This is because Wray was appointed by Trump in 2017 and still has 3 years left in a 10-year term.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, a social network he created.
“I am proud to announce that Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel will be the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator and “America First” fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending justice and protecting the American people.”declared the republican.
Trump declared that Patel’s administration “will end the growing crime epidemic in the United States, dismantle criminal immigrant gangs, and end the evil scourge of human and drug trafficking at the border”.
