Windhoek – In the southwest African state of Namibia, a woman is at the top for the first time. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah won the presidential election with 58.1 percent of the vote, the electoral commission said, after 91.8 percent of votes were counted. The 72-year-old, previously vice president, wants to focus her five-year term in office on combating high youth unemployment and making deep investments in “green” energy, agriculture and infrastructure.
