You can use both fresh and frozen cranberries to prepare the compote. Preparing this tasty drink is generally extremely simple and anyone should be able to do it. To make Christmas cranberry compote you will need the following ingredients:

  • 500 g fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 slices of ginger
  • 4 cardamom seeds
  • 6-8 cloves
  • 2 liters of water
  • A few tablespoons of honey (depending on your sweetness preferences)

Preparation method:

First, freeze the fresh cranberries before preparing the compote. If you use frozen, On the day you prepare the compote, start by boiling two liters of water in a pot. Meanwhile, scald the lemon and tangerines and wash the cranberries. Cut the ginger, lemon and tangerines into slices.

Pour cranberries into a pot of boiling water, then add ginger, lemon and tangerines. After a while, add cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. Cook everything covered for about 30 minutes, until the cranberries start to fall apart. Sweeten it with honey according to your sweetness preferences.
