The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Thursday (5) that he chose former senator David Perdue to be ambassador to China in the next American administration.
“He will be instrumental in implementing my strategy to maintain peace in the region and a productive working relationship with China’s leaders,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump, who takes office on January 20, 2025, has said he will impose one unless Beijing does more to stop the trafficking of fentanyl, a highly addictive narcotic.
The Republican also talked about Chinese products during the election campaign.
