Qualified for the Copa Libertadores after 35 years, Bahia will have a calendar full of competitions in 2025. Next year, the Squadron is guaranteed in five disputes: Campeonato Baiano, Copa do Nordeste, Copa do Brasil, Campeonato Brasileiro and Copa Libertadores.
The Squadron’s debut in the Libertadores will be on the week of February 19th, in the second phase of the tournament’s preliminary round. The return match will be the week of February 26th. Opponent and location of matches will be decided by draw.
If they progress to the third phase, Bahia will enter the field in the weeks of March 5th and 12th, also in knockout matches. The Bahian team needs to go through the two qualifiers to reach the group stage.
In 2025, competitions will start earlier due to the Club World Cup, which will be played between June and July – the CBF decided to paralyze Brazilian football during the tournament. Thus, Baianão will start on January 11th. Bahia announced that it will use the under-20 team in the first three rounds of the state championship.
In addition to the little time to prepare for a possible debut on January 11th – the squad returns from vacation on January 9th -, the tricolor will hold pre-season in Girona, Spain, and will not be in Brazil during the first games from Baianão.
The Brazilian Championship is scheduled to start in March and will be played until December 21, 2025.
