Matheus Soares Brito is being investigated for helping the murderer of Antônio Vinícius Lopes Gritzbach escape
After a custody hearing this Sunday morning (Dec 8, 2024), the São Paulo Court maintained the arrest of Matheus Soares Brito, suspected of participating in the murder of whistleblower Antônio Vinícius Lopes Gritzbach at Guarulhos International Airport on November 8.
Brito was arrested last Saturday (Dec 7) along with 3 other people, who were released by the DHPP (Department of Homicide and Personal Protection). The police requested his temporary arrest.
“Ammunition and cell phone devices were seized, which will be examined. The investigations remain confidential.”said the SSP (Public Security Secretariat) in a note.
Mateus’ brother, Marcos Henrique Soares Brito Soares, and his uncle, Allan Pereira Soares, were also arrested, but were released due to lack of evidence.
To the Poder360the PM-SP said that the case remains under investigation under secrecy. Other information is being kept confidential in order, according to the police, to maintain the “autonomy” of the authorities’ work.
The man who remains detained is suspected of having helped Kauê do Amaral Coelho escape from São Paulo after the crime at the airport. Kauê is indicated by the investigations as being responsible for warning the others involved of the businessman’s arrival at the airport.
