Last Friday (6), the Civil Police of Minas Gerais arrested four men suspected of killing a friend with a sledgehammer and hiding the body in the city of João Pinheiro, in the northwest region of the state.
The friends, aged between 19 and 21, lured the young man to a deserted area of the Ribeirão River, under the pretext of a fishing trip. At the scene, the suspects struck the 18-year-old boy several times with a sledgehammer.
The motivation for the crime would have been a debt of R$400 worth of marijuana and jealousy over the fact that the victim was flirting with the girlfriend of one of his friends.
The first hit was carried out by a 20-year-old young man, who confessed to the crime. The others involved then attacked the victim.
The suspects tried to hide the young man’s body, transporting the body in a pickup truck to the region known as Boca da Onça Ribeirão. At the scene, the body was partially burned and covered with a tarpaulin.
The young man was reported missing on December 4th, when the police were called and began investigations. Those involved are in preventive detention granted by the Court.
