The mayor of Ricardo Nunes, is at a crucial moment in his administration, as he defines the secretariat for next year. After his re-election, Nunes began a series of meetings with leaders of the 12 parties that supported him, including the MDB, his own party. The objective of these meetings is to hear suggestions and recommendations for the composition of the teams, seeking a balance between political alliances and administrative efficiency.

Although open to suggestions, Nunes has already made it clear that the Education and Health portfolios, considered to be of greater importance, will have personal nominations. This decision reflects his dissatisfaction with the current Secretary of Education, Fernando Padula, and the possibility of replacing him. The situation of the Secretary of Health, Luís Carlos Zamarco, is still under evaluation.

During the meetings, the Liberal Party, responsible for nominating vice-mayor Coronel Melo Araújo, requested a portfolio with a robust budget, such as Education or Health. However, the request was vetoed by Nunes, who is considering allocating the PL’s nomination to the Secretariat of Green and Environment. In addition to talking to the parties, the mayor has also met with the current secretaries to evaluate their performance, which could result in stays or significant changes. Furthermore, Fabrício Cobra, Secretary of the Civil House, must remain in the government, but may be transferred to another department, while Edson Aparecido, Secretary of Government and Nunes’ right-hand man, must remain in his current position.

It was also announced that vice-mayor Melo Araújo was appointed to head the Strategic Projects portfolio, assuming responsibility for leading several issues at city hall. stated that he is in no rush to finalize the composition of the secretariat, allowing the definitions to extend until the beginning of next year.
