In search of a new coach, Vasco entered the competition for Renato Gaúcho, ex-Grêmio, who is free on the market after leaving the club from Rio Grande do Sul.

According to the website “ge.com”, Renato is viewed favorably by the Cruz-Maltina board, who contacted the coach and formalized their interest this Thursday (12/12). However, Renato Gaúcho asked for more time to define the future. The answer, according to the investigation, will be given this weekend.

In fact, Renato Gaúcho is in Rio de Janeiro and appeared in records with Fred, a former Fluminense player, playing footvolley.

In Rio de Janeiro, Renato coached Madureira, Fluminense, Vasco and Flamengo. In addition to Renato Gaúcho, Vasco unsuccessfully tried to sign Pedro Caixinha (ex-Bragantino) and Luís Castro (ex-Botafogo). The Rio club has been without a permanent coach since Rafael Paiva left in November.

Pedrinho and company’s priority is a coach who knows Brazilian football, aiming for a more competitive team in 2025 – Vasco will compete, in addition to Carioca, Série A and Copa do Brasil, in the Copa Sudamericana.
