Jamie Lee Curtis explains delay in “Freaky Friday” sequel

The actress Jamie Lee Curtis66, explained why it took so long for a film sequel “Freaky Friday” be produced. Starring alongside Lindsay Lohan38, the sequel hits theaters in 2025, 22 years after the first title.

In an interview with the American television program, Today, the star mentions that “we couldn’t have made this film until now, because Lindsay [Lohan] I had to be old enough to have a 15-year-old daughter.” She also comments that she will be a grandmother in the new film.

The sequence of “Freaky Friday” won, an official event for Disney fans that took place in August, in Los Angeles, in the United States.

In August, both actresses . Curtis reunites with Lohan to reprise their roles as mother and daughter in “Freaky Friday 2,” the film’s sequel in which they swap bodies after fighting.

Other names such as Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao are also confirmed for the sequel. Joining the cast are Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons.

The 2003 film was a remake of a 1976 original starring Jodie Foster as the daughter and Barbara Harris as the mother. The story is based on the 1972 novel “Freaky Friday” by Mary Rodgers.

The sequel hits Brazilian cinemas on August 7, 2025.
